PNG Portable Network Graphics
A lossless image format: every pixel is kept exactly, and transparent backgrounds are supported. Ideal for screenshots, logos and graphics. Photos saved as PNG are much bigger than as JPG.

Why are the PNG files large?
PNG is lossless and the pages are at print resolution. For pages full of photos, JPG is smaller.
Is the background transparent?
No. Pages are saved with their white paper background, as they look in a PDF reader.
