Why is the PNG so much bigger than the HEIC?
PNG stores every pixel without compression tricks meant for photos, so a 2 MB HEIC can become a 10–20 MB PNG. For sharing, JPG is the better choice.
Should I choose PNG or JPG for iPhone photos?
JPG for sharing and uploading: smaller and accepted everywhere. PNG when you'll edit the photo further and want no more quality loss along the way.
